03 Apr Top tips for Motorbike Body Repairs
Motorbike body repairs needn’t bring undue stress on your adventures. We’ll repair your motorbike in good time for a great price, and we’ve got the experience and skills to revamp your ride if desired to transform the way it looks.
We carry out a wide range of repairs on motorbikes at our body shop in Pudsey. Here’s a run-down of motorbike elements that can be repaired relatively easily:
Body chassis
The body chassis, or parts that cover the chassis, as susceptible to damage and especially if the bike is dropped. If your body has a few love marks or scrapes, these can be repaired with sanding and repainting as an ‘as new’ condition.
Fuel tanks
These can be cleaned thoroughly, and rust can be eliminated. Aluminium tanks do not ordinarily rust too extensively but steel ones can. Depending on the age of your bike, the old fuel tank might need replacing with a newer unit.
Stone chips
These can be sanded down and filled with a durable polymer. The polymer is as strong as the metal and will last a long time. The repaired area is then resprayed. Depending on the size of the area, it might be best to respray the whole panel.
Fairings
Fairings get lots of abuse, but they can be repaired. The old fairings on your motorbike can be saved with new welding and scratch repair. Repainting is the final step to bring the fairings up to an ‘as new’ condition.
Wheels / alloys
These can also be fully refurbished. Any dents or marks can be sanded out and filled. Alloys can be sprayed or powder-coated for a durable finish. The wheels can be painted any colour you like to match the body or create a contrast.
A few of the benefits of working with us include a guarantee on all repair work up to 5-years, a free courtesy car if needed and a 24-hour turnaround time on certain repairs.
